From Farmer’s Market to Table….
It has been an absolute pleasure serving Nancy Taylor-Bubes once again for this amazing event held in her lovely home.
The theme of the event is “Bringing the Outside In” and I was given the task to put together a menu that is fresh, seasonal and supporting local. Nancy’s colleague and dear friend, Michelle Sievre, who has a great eye for design and decorative touch (move over Martha Stewart!) put together the most amazing table setting and centerpieces that fit so well with the theme. We both decided to plan the menu based on the seasonal ingredients and fresh dishes from Georgetown’s Farmer’s Market at Rose Park, and after taking the trip to the park on Wednesday I came up with the following menu for the dinner party.
The menu:
Appetizers: Variety of Empanadas, Thin Crust Seasonal Pizza Bites, Herb Goat Cheese Cucumber Bites
Salad Course: Microgreens with Roasted Beet and Goat Cheese Napoleons
Main Course: Roasted Maine Salmon topped with Herb Gremolata over Asparagus Risotto
Dessert: Pavlova topped with Fresh Cream and Strawberry Gastrique
I want to thank the following vendors at Rose Park for bringing me inspiration for this lovely menu and providing the most amazing ingredients, dishes and product that made the menu extra special! : El Tender de Nacho, Pizza Brama, Anchor Nursery, Lobster Maine and Bread House.
I also want to thank my lovely assistants Chef Sandra from Creative Visions Cuisine, LLC, Lily and Irene for making this dinner party run smoothly. Thank you Bellas! xxooo
